TV Shows to Check out (mainly ma Canadians)

If you're bummed that most of shows like Girls, Game of Thrones or The Killing have had their season finale this summer here's a list of shows to keep you busy:

Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg, this is a sci-fi thriller where aliens attack the earth. If you like the Walking Dead, you'll enjoy this one! There's a similar show coming this fall called Revolution - look out for it.

All you really need to know is that this webisode has lady gaga's BF hottie Taylor Kinney in it and um well it's really good!


Okay, this one is for all the reality show die hards. If you like all things New York I would suggest a marathon. 2 Brooklyn crews are divided because of well ...cheating. Did she make out with her best friends boyfriend on that fateful night or didn't she?! All will be revealed!

Although this season just ended I would recommend a marathon. I really didn't think we needed another show about the whitehouse but this is hilarious! Great cast as well! If you like Veep you'll probably like the Newsroom too. 


Portlandia is a hilarious webisode by one of the guys from Saturday Night Live. This clip is one of my favourites!

Red Lights Film

I was lucky enough to watch the advanced screening of the movie Red Lights with the cute and always dark Cillian Murphy as well as the director who also did buried with Ryan Reynolds. It was an edge of your seat psychological thriller especially with surround sound at a tiff bell lightbox! So refreshing to watch an original story for a change! Here a couple clips from the Q + A:

The zipper makes it easy to change the style to a cropped jacket!

If you ride a bike like me then you can appreciate the "skorts" trend!
J Crew has the best jean shorts I've seen, not too casual or short:

Investing in a sequence skirt is probably a good idea - this trend isn't going away anytime soon!

And of course jumper shorts or "rompers" are perfect for giving the illusion of that summer dress but not having to worry about the wind or other elements playing peekaboo with your underwear. This is my favourite trend this summer!

Everyone is a DJ

If you want to join the DJ club try practicing first on your laptop at home. Download Virtual DJ or other similar software to start fading tracks, creating your own mixes, etc. 
Careful some of the softwares have a trial period/expiry date!

Girl Power

The conversation with Amanda de Cadenet is a refreshing show where female celebrities give their "honest" opinion about sex, body image, spirituality, fame, success, goals, babies & guys. They're asked about their favourite sexual position and what advice they would give their 14 year old self. Demi Moore is also the executive producer and I learn something everytime I watch it!
